On Friday October 14, 2011 Industrial Safety Solutions a division of Lafayette based Industrial Solutions Group L.L.C. along with Superior Training Solutions L.L.C. completed Louisiana’s first State approved Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic to Paramedic Transitional Refresher Course.

Due to the ever changing landscape of pre-hospital care the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians recently announced changes in the requirements for all levels of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). The changes are based on emergency medical services (EMS) evolving role in patient care during acute emergencies, and transfer of patients from hospital to hospital. In addition it has long been suggested that Paramedics will become more involved in the clinical aspect of medical care particularly in remote areas of the country.

Industrial Safety Solutions provides Paramedics to industry whose operations are located in remote areas or where onsite medical service is required.

To assure that ISS Paramedics are competent in the knowledge and skills required by the National Registry, ISS designed its refresher course to provide material appropriate for review of past requirements, training on new requirements, and field specific topics. The course is also designed to test cognitive and psychomotor skills of each participant.
